Empowering the Next Generation: Olive Grange Foundation’s Outreach at De-Rock School

At Olive Grange Foundation (OGF), our mission goes beyond charity — we are committed to raising a generation of informed, morally upright, and socially responsible youth. As part of this ongoing mission, we hosted a transformative school outreach program on the 9th of May, 2025, at De-Rock School, Ado-Ekiti.
This session was more than a visit — it was a powerful conversation aimed at shaping the future of our youth and guiding them away from the dangers of social vices that threaten their potential.
Tackling Social Vices Head-On
The outreach focused on educating students about the dangers and consequences of destructive behaviors and choices. Topics discussed included:
- Human trafficking
- Premarital sex and teenage pregnancy
- Prostitution
- Cybercrimes and money rituals
- Stealing, drug abuse, and other harmful addictions
Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and counseling, students were made aware of how these vices can derail their lives, dreams, and communities. The session helped them understand the power of choices and the importance of discipline, self-worth, and purpose.
Our Impact in Numbers
185 students and 20 staff participated in the outreach.
42 students received one-on-one counseling, creating a safe space for them to express their fears, ask questions, and receive guidance on how to make positive life decisions.
This level of engagement and openness reflects a deep hunger for mentorship, and OGF is committed to meeting that need through continuous programs and partnerships.
Why These Conversations Matter
Youth across Nigeria — and indeed, the world — are increasingly exposed to societal pressures and temptations that threaten their futures. Issues like internet fraud (Yahoo Yahoo), drug abuse, and money rituals are becoming dangerously normalized among teens.
At OGF, we believe that prevention through education and engagement is the most powerful way to disrupt this trend. By helping students recognize these traps early, we empower them to choose a better path.
