Building Healthy and Morally Sound Futures: Olive Grange Foundation’s Outreach at Dorcas Palace Academy

In a world where children and teenagers are increasingly exposed to social vices and health risks, early intervention through education remains a powerful tool. That’s why on the 5th of May, 2025, Olive Grange Foundation (OGF) kickstarted its first school outreach session of the term at Dorcas Palace Academy, Ado-Ekiti — a visit that left a lasting impact on both students and staff.
Focusing on Two Critical Issues: Immunization and Social Vices
The outreach session was centered on two pressing concerns affecting today’s youth:
1. The Importance of Immunization
OGF volunteers took time to educate students about the vital role vaccines play in protecting individual and public health. Many children in underserved communities often miss out on life-saving immunizations due to misinformation or limited access.
By helping students understand how vaccines work, their benefits, and their long-term impact on wellbeing, the session empowered them to take responsibility for their health and to encourage their families to do the same.
2. The Dangers and Consequences of Social Vices
From peer pressure, dishonesty, and stealing, to lying, premarital sex, and disobedience, the OGF team created a safe, interactive space where students could learn about the dangers of these behaviors and how to resist negative influences.
The foundation’s approach emphasized moral values, self-discipline, and the strength to make positive decisions in a world filled with distractions.

With rising cases of youth involvement in destructive behaviors and poor health practices, OGF believes in tackling these challenges at the root — by nurturing young minds with knowledge, character-building, and life skills.
